Maninalto 2015 – The Beginning

Vintage 2015 | Vittoria, Sicily | 60% Nero d’Avola, 40% Frappato | Not for Sale – Made to Be Shared

This is where it all began.
Maninalto 2015 wasn’t made for the market. It wasn’t made for a label. It was made for sharing—of ideas, grapes, friendship, and the belief that wine can be something deeper than product.

This first vintage was only possible thanks to the generosity of those who believed in the idea before it even had a name:
Arianna Occhipinti, Azienda Agricola COS, Riofavara, and Piano Grillo.
Each of them offered something essential—grapes, cellar space, encouragement, and most importantly, their trust.

A Collaborative Vintage

  • Grape blend: 60% Nero d’Avola, 40% Frappato

  • Region: Vittoria, Sicily

  • Fermentation: Spontaneous, in a 700L wooden barrel

  • Maceration: 12 days on skins, grapes fully destemmed

  • Total production: Shared among friends – never released commercially

A Wine That Stays Close

This wine was never sold. Every bottle was a gift—a thank you, a toast, a gesture of gratitude. The project started not from business, but from community.

From the grapes to the bottles, corks, and even the labels—everything was given, offered, passed along. For that, I will always be grateful.

From the Winemaker

Maninalto 2015 is the soul of the whole project. It reminds me that wine is not just something you make—it’s something you create with others. Without this vintage, Maninalto wouldn’t exist.

To those who shared with me—I raise this bottle to you.
